Attitude Hotels, a leading Mauritian hospitality group, recently unveiled its new brand film at the IFTM TopResa event in Paris, which took place from September 15 to 17. The film, released on September 14, aims to redefine the concept of travel and highlight the group's focus on local experiences. By asking the question, "why travel if it's just to forget where you are?", Attitude encourages travelers to immerse themselves in the local culture of their destination.

The brand film is a reflection of Attitude's founding promise, made 18 years ago, to never disconnect travelers from the destination they visit. With eight properties, seven in Mauritius and one in Zanzibar, the group has successfully incorporated local elements into each hotel, showcasing the unique identity of its surroundings. From local cuisine to decor crafted by island artisans, every detail is designed to provide an authentic experience.

At Attitude Hotels, the commitment to local experiences is evident in various aspects of the guest experience. For instance, guests can enjoy dinner at a local's home, savor traditional Mauritian breakfasts, or explore the hotel's restaurants, such as Kot Nou and Taba-J, which celebrate local cuisine. The group's properties also feature works by local artists and host events that promote emerging talent, like the Konpoz to Lamizik music competition.

The new brand film tells two interconnected stories, one of travel and the other of local life, blurring the lines between the two. The narrative is complemented by a soundtrack that combines the work of Mauritian producer Ribongia and Zanzibari artist Siti Muharam, creating a unique cultural blend. By showcasing the beauty of both Mauritius and Zanzibar, the film embodies Attitude's philosophy of embracing local cultures.

According to Esther Amsallem, Head of Content and Communication at Attitude Hotels, the decision to create a new brand film was driven by the group's growth and evolution since its last film in 2018. With the addition of new properties and a broader presence in East Africa, Attitude sought to refresh its brand message and highlight its commitment to local experiences. The film aims to convey the group's promise to bring guests closer to the local culture.

The production of the brand film involved a collaborative effort between Attitude's creative team, local artists, and partners. The film's director, Steve McDonald, and cinematographer, Alex Oelofse, worked closely with the group to capture the essence of Attitude's properties and the local communities that surround them. By featuring real people, including hotel staff, clients, and local residents, the film showcases the authenticity of the Attitude experience.

As Attitude Hotels continues to expand its presence in East Africa, the new brand film serves as a testament to the group's dedication to providing unique, locally inspired experiences for its guests. With a focus on community engagement, cultural immersion, and environmental responsibility, Attitude remains committed to its founding principles, setting it apart in the hospitality industry.
