The Arab Radio and Television Festival commenced today, Monday, with the arrival of nearly 500 guests over the past two days. The event is being held in the city of Hammamet, where most activities are taking place. According to Imad Qattata, head of communication and media at the Arab States Broadcasting Union, the decision to organize the event in Hammamet has been well-received by guests, providing a tourist dimension that contributes to stimulating tourism and allowing guests to discover Tunisian tourist destinations.
This year's festival features an opening ceremony at the ancient Carthage Theater, which will be performed by Syrian artist Nassif Zetoun and Iraqi artist Rahma Riyadh. The event also includes the honoring of 12 Arab creators, including Tunisian actress Latifa Al-Qafsi and Egyptian actor Mohamed Tharwat. The ceremony will be hosted by Tunisian presenter Farah Ben Rajeb and Egyptian presenter Yasmine Taha.
The festival's program includes various activities, with the closing ceremony set to take place on Thursday at the Opera Theater in the City of Culture. The closing ceremony will be divided into two main parts: the announcement of winners and their crowning in radio and television competitions, and a special artistic performance titled "Travel to You and Sing".
The artistic performance, produced by the Arab States Broadcasting Union, features a musical vision by Karim Al-Thlibi and an orchestra conducted by Rassem Demak. The performance includes an orchestra of 65 musicians, an oriental choir, and six singers from six Arab countries: Hanan Al-Shatr from Egypt, Yaqoub Shahin from Palestine, Abdullah Tariq from Kuwait, Mamoun Swar Al-Dhahab from Sudan, Kussayila Igradi from Algeria, and Faras Fayed from Oman.
The performance explores the aesthetics of the Arab "Mawal" through various musical colors that reflect the rich musical heritage of the Arab world. Imad Qattata emphasized the Arab States Broadcasting Union's pride in its fruitful cooperation with Tunisian partners, including the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Tunisian Television, Tunisian Radio, and Arabsat.
