The 10th Arab Conference on Information Security wrapped up in Cairo after two days of specialized sessions, workshops, and professional discussions. The event saw widespread participation from government agencies, national institutions, experts, specialists, and companies operating in information security and cybersecurity fields. The conference was under the patronage of Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Rafeat Hendy.
The conference, themed "10 Years. One Cyber MENA Future," featured extensive discussions on the future of information security, protection of vital infrastructure, data security, artificial intelligence, and governance of emerging technologies. Dr. Bahaa Hassan, head of the conference, emphasized that cybersecurity has become a fundamental element in protecting societies and economies, supporting digital transformation.
Dr. Hassan stated that the conference's tenth anniversary marks a significant milestone, highlighting that cybersecurity is no longer the responsibility of a single sector or entity but a shared responsibility requiring continuous cooperation among governments, the private sector, academic institutions, and society. The conference recommendations stressed the importance of Arab cooperation, exchanging information and expertise on cyber threats and attacks.
The conference called for developing more effective mechanisms for coordinating and responding to incidents, elevating the protection level of digital infrastructure and vital services, and enhancing institutional capabilities to prepare for and respond to cyber incidents. Participants also recommended supporting the safe and responsible use of artificial intelligence technologies and developing clear governance frameworks.
The conference emphasized investing in human capacities and cadres, developing specialized training and educational programs to build capabilities, and qualifying a new generation of experts in information security and emerging technologies. The recommendations included promoting partnership between the public and private sectors and converting conference outcomes into practical initiatives and projects.
One of the key recommendations was to work on establishing a nucleus for an Arab list of trusted service providers, enhancing the reliability of cross-border digital transactions and services, and supporting mutual recognition of trust services, electronic signatures, and transactions among Arab countries. The conference also honored members of advisory committees, research evaluation committees, and award judges.
The closing ceremony included announcing the 2026 Cybersecurity Excellence Awards, recognizing leaders, experts, and specialists for their outstanding contributions to information security and cybersecurity in Egypt and the Arab region. The Arab Security Cyber Wargames Championship 2026 results were also announced, with Team Tamer El-Gayar from Jordan winning first place.
