The Martell Swift Academy, created by Martell and curated by Africa House, is now accepting applications from emerging music creatives and professionals based in Accra. This programme aims to bring selected participants together for mentorship, practical development, industry access, and collaboration. Following its successful inaugural edition in Nairobi, the academy is expanding to Accra to continue its rollout across Africa.
The Nairobi edition of the Martell Swift Academy brought together 25 emerging creatives and professionals from across the music ecosystem for mentorship, practical learning, industry access, and continued creative development. The Accra edition will offer a similar experience, providing participants with professional tools tailored to their development needs, direct mentorship from industry experts, access to a network of peers and collaborators, and a grant.
The programme is open to emerging artists, producers, songwriters, and music industry professionals based in Accra. To apply, interested individuals can complete the online application form, which is free of charge. The application period opens on 27 October 2026 and closes on 6 November 2026. Terms and conditions apply, and applicants can visit the Martell Swift Academy website for more information.
Participants in the Martell Swift Academy will have the opportunity to work with industry experts, including Juls, DJ and Producer; Gyakie, Artist; Manifest, Rapper, Songwriter, and Producer; Therese Ohemaa Akua Jones, Manager and Music Executive; and Maxwell Adjevon, Music Journalist, Event Curator, and Founder of iMullar. The programme aims to create a home for African creativity, providing a platform for emerging talent to connect with industry leaders and opportunities.
Maison Martell, the oldest of the great cognac houses, founded by Jean Martell in 1715, is renowned for its finesse and elegance. The house is defined by its passion for its craft and its profound attachment to the terroir. The free spirit of the House is symbolised by its historic emblem: the swift. Martell Swift Academy is an extension of this legacy, aiming to support emerging talent in the music industry.
