The Allied People's Movement (APM) has said it will adopt structures of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to secure victory for its presidential candidate, Mr Seyi Makinde, in the 2027 elections. This was made known by Mr Felix Hyat, Director-General (DG) of the APM National Campaign Council (NCC), at a meeting with 190 candidates seeking various elective positions across the five South-Eastern states. The meeting was convened to discuss strategies for the forthcoming general elections and develop a roadmap for securing victory in all elective positions.

The meeting with the party's 190 candidates in the five Eastern states was to listen to their challenges and map out strategies on winning the elections at all levels across the country in the 2027 general elections. Mr Seyi Makinde, the APM presidential candidate, said that the party would soon unveil its manifesto for Nigerians to see the blueprint designed to deliver the country from total collapse. He expressed confidence that after the meeting, the party would be on the same page to face the general election with the seriousness it deserves.

Mr Felix Hyat criticised the borrowing approach of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration, saying it had contributed to Nigeria's economic challenges, including poverty and corruption. He reaffirmed his commitment to mobilising votes for Makinde's victory, particularly to address Nigeria's high levels of poverty, hunger and insecurity. Hyat expressed concern that the failure of some party agents to perform their duties effectively often resulted in disappointing electoral outcomes at polling units.

The APM National Chairman, Alhaji Yusuf Mamman, said the party and its presidential candidate had the backing of patriotic Nigerians seeking the transformation of the country. Mamman commended the party chairmen in the five South-Eastern states for their commitment to sustaining and strengthening the party's structures in the region. He expressed optimism that the party would make a significant impact in the region.

APM's Abia governorship candidate, Dr Ikechukwu Charles, declared that the people of the South-East were prepared to rally behind the party in its bid to rescue Nigeria from economic hardship, insecurity and other national challenges. He said that was why they liked the party's slogan – 'Nigeria first' 'Reset Nigeria.' Charles added that they were ready to come out en masse to vote and equally stand firm to defend their votes at the polling units.

The APM's decision to join forces with the PDP is seen as a strategic move to secure victory in the 2027 elections. The party's adoption of PDP structures is expected to provide a boost to its campaign efforts. The meeting with the party's candidates in the South-East region was a significant step towards achieving this goal. The party's leaders expressed confidence that the alliance would yield positive results.

The APM's presidential candidate, Seyi Makinde, is expected to unveil his manifesto soon, which will outline his vision for Nigeria's transformation. The party's campaign efforts are expected to focus on addressing the country's economic challenges, including poverty, hunger and insecurity. The party's strategy to protect its votes and ensure that they count is also expected to be a key aspect of its campaign.
