Youths of Nigeria's All Progressives Congress in the South West have initiated registration for the South-West Youth Diaspora Dialogue and Development Forum. The event, themed "Connecting Nigerians abroad for a stronger Nigeria: From questions to practical actions," aims to create a platform for Nigerians abroad to discuss contributing their expertise to Nigeria's development. APC South-West Youth Leader Adesuyi Daramola announced the October 24 virtual meeting in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State capital.
The dialogue seeks to provide an opportunity for Nigerians in the diaspora to share ideas, exchange professional knowledge, and explore collaboration areas supporting Nigeria's development efforts. Convened by Daramola, the programme is coordinated by Jesugbamigbe Fadipe, Coordinator, Diaspora Engagement, Office of the APC South-West Youth Leader. The initiative focuses on practical pathways for diaspora engagement, including mentoring and knowledge exchange.
Daramola stated that the dialogue is open to all Nigerians, irrespective of political or professional affiliation, with an emphasis on constructive engagement and practical contributions to Nigeria's development. The initiative aims to move beyond questions and concerns towards practical actions, connecting skills, knowledge, and professional experience to Nigeria's development needs.
Registration is currently open to Nigerians in the diaspora and interested participants through an official registration link. Participants are encouraged to submit questions ahead of the virtual town hall, enabling the programme to reflect issues, opportunities, and practical questions that matter to them.
The event is expected to provide a structured platform for Nigerians living abroad to discuss practical ways of contributing their knowledge, professional expertise, and skills to development initiatives in Nigeria. This aligns with APC's efforts to engage with the diaspora community and leverage their expertise for national development.
According to Daramola, the dialogue will focus on defined professional assignments, verification of opportunities, and responsible participation. The initiative is designed to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing between Nigerians in the diaspora and those in the country.
The South-West Youth Diaspora Dialogue and Development Forum will take place virtually on October 24, 2026, and is open to all interested participants. With a focus on practical actions, the event aims to drive meaningful engagement and contributions from Nigerians in the diaspora towards Nigeria's development.
