A prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Abia State, Mrs. Lillian Obenwa, has called on the people of Isuikwuato Local Government Area to support the re-election bids of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu in 2027. This appeal was made during Kalu's ongoing ward-to-ward tour of Isuikwuato, where Obenwa emphasized that both leaders have delivered beyond expectations and deserve continued support.
Obenwa, popularly known as "Igolo," highlighted Kalu's impressive performance in Abia North, particularly in road construction, education, scholarships, empowerment, and legislative representation. She cited over 70 road projects facilitated by Kalu across the five local government areas of Abia North, as well as the construction and renovation of over 100 school blocks and classrooms, provision of educational materials, and scholarships for constituents.
According to Obenwa, Kalu's interventions have been spread across communities in Arochukwu, Bende, Ohafia, Isikwuato, and Umunneochi, demonstrating his commitment to the region's development. She also praised Kalu's legislative record, noting his sponsorship of bills and motions on national issues, which shows that his activities are not limited to constituency projects.
Kalu's tour has taken him through several communities and wards in Isuikwuato, including Oguduasa, Avuvu, Nunya, Isuamawu Ward 4 in Eluama, Umubiala Ward 12, Otamkpa Ward 3, Mgbelu Umunnekwu Ward 6, and Amiyi Obilohia Ward 5. At each stop, the senator presented his report card, acknowledged challenges raised by residents, and assured them of continued collaboration to attract more development to the area.
Obenwa also expressed her support for President Tinubu, citing his administration's reforms and infrastructure projects, which she believes require continuity to produce their full benefits. She mentioned major road projects, the student loan program, and investments in infrastructure as some of the reasons she is canvassing support for the president.
The APC chieftain urged party members and supporters in Isuikwuato to take the message to the grassroots and engage the people on the records of the president and senator ahead of the 2027 general elections. She emphasized that the people have seen the records of Tinubu and Kalu and should support them to continue their work.
