Andrada Mining has reported a 13% year-on-year increase in contained tin production to 576 tonnes in the first six months of its 2027 financial year. This growth was driven by higher feed grades and improved plant performance at its Uis Mine in Namibia. The company's tin concentrate production also increased by 11% to 955 tonnes, up from 858 tonnes in the same period last year.

The second quarter ended 31 August 2026 saw contained tin production rise 6% to 290 tonnes, compared to 273 tonnes in the same quarter last year. Tin concentrate production also increased by 6% to 482 tonnes, up from 453 tonnes. According to Andrada, the increase in production was due to improvements in processing performance and higher feed grades.

The average plant processing rate at Uis increased by 7% to 153 tonnes per hour in H1 FY2027, compared to 143 tonnes per hour in the same period last year. The company also reported a 2% increase in ore processed to 538,810 tonnes, up from 527,583 tonnes. The average feed grade rose by 9% to 0.149% tin, up from 0.137%.

Andrada is now moving forward with the implementation phase of a funded production growth programme at Uis. The company has secured N$98 million in funding from Bank Windhoek and the Development Bank of Namibia to support planned operational upgrades, including the installation of an ore-sorting circuit.

The ore-sorting circuit is expected to significantly increase annual tin concentrate production by 50-70% to approximately 2,500-3,000 tonnes. This is equivalent to around 1,500-1,900 tonnes of contained tin. Andrada has already ordered long-lead equipment for the crushing component of the ore-sorting circuit as implementation of the project advances.

According to Andrada's Chief Executive Officer, Anthony Viljoen, the first-half performance provides a stronger base for the next phase of growth. Viljoen attributed the increased tin production to higher feed grades and processing rates. He also noted that the N$98 million funding package will enable the company to install the ore-sorting circuit.

The increased concentrate production is expected to reduce the applicable royalty rate, which Andrada expects to support operating margins and cash generation. Andrada Mining is listed on AIM under the code ATM and on the Namibian Stock Exchange under ATM. The company's strong production growth and funding package position it for continued success in the tin mining sector.
