Former Ambassador to China, Edward Boateng, has extended his congratulations to John Boadu on his election as the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) National Chairman. Mr. Boadu was elected at the NPP's National Delegates Conference in Kumasi on October 3, as part of the party's efforts to elect a new national executive team. Ambassador Boateng expressed his confidence in Mr. Boadu's ability to lead the party's organisational renewal, citing his extensive experience within the NPP.

Ambassador Boateng emphasized that Mr. Boadu's election represents a significant vote of confidence and places a considerable responsibility on him to revitalise the party's grassroots structures, restore discipline and accountability, and rebuild public confidence in the NPP. He also urged the new leadership to reach out to members who supported different candidates in the party's internal contests, as well as those who felt disappointed, neglected, or disconnected.

According to Ambassador Boateng, every tradition and tendency within the NPP must find a place in the rebuilding effort. He advised the party to draw lessons from its performance in the 2024 general election and prepare for 2028 with unity, humility, hard work, fresh thinking, and a compelling message capable of reconnecting it with Ghanaians. This, he believes, will enable the party to support its Leader and Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and position the NPP to return to government in 2029.

With Mr. Boadu's experience as National Youth Organiser, National Organiser, Acting General Secretary, and General Secretary, Ambassador Boateng is confident that he has a deep understanding of the party's structures and challenges. He urged Mr. Boadu to utilize this experience to build a united and formidable party capable of supporting its Flagbearer and winning back the confidence of Ghanaians.

The task now, according to Ambassador Boateng, is to build a united and formidable party that can support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and return the NPP to government in 2029. He emphasized the importance of unity, humility, and hard work in achieving this goal. By doing so, the party can reconnect with Ghanaians and position itself for success in the future.

John Boadu's election as NPP National Chairman comes at a critical time for the party, as it seeks to regroup and reorganize after the 2024 general election. Ambassador Boateng's congratulatory message and advice are seen as a boost to Mr. Boadu's efforts to lead the party's renewal and rebuild its image.
