The municipality of Oued Ghir, Algeria, is set to launch over 60 development projects after Eid al-Adha, as announced by the President of the APC, Yacine Ramdani. The projects, which were initially scheduled to start earlier in the year, were delayed due to administrative issues. Ramdani recently met with representatives of the selected companies to discuss the delays and find solutions to move forward with the projects.
According to Ramdani, the delays were caused by issues with the financial controllers and the intercommunal treasurer, as well as slow processing of budget documents. The projects are worth millions of Algerian dinars and aim to improve infrastructure, sports facilities, and public services in the municipality. The APC has been working to address the issues and ensure the projects are completed as soon as possible.
One of the key projects is the renovation of four stadiums in the municipality, with a total budget of 2 billion Algerian dinars. Three stadiums will be equipped with synthetic grass, while the main stadium will receive a tartan track and a new synthetic grass field. The projects are expected to improve sports facilities in the area and promote physical activity among residents.
In addition to the stadium renovations, the APC has allocated 1.2 billion Algerian dinars to improve the streets of several neighborhoods in the municipality. The project involves using decorative concrete to pave the streets, which is expected to be more durable and easier to maintain than traditional materials. The APC has chosen this material for its aesthetic and practical benefits.
Other projects included in the municipality's plans are the renovation of sewage networks and the paving of roads with bitumen. One of the roads to be paved is the communal path connecting the village of Ibachirène to the Mellala health center, which will cost 3 million Algerian dinars. These projects aim to improve the quality of life for residents and provide better infrastructure.
Ramdani expressed his frustration with the slow pace of administrative processes, stating that if the current rhythm continues, the projects will not be completed until 2040. He emphasized the importance of cooperation between the APC and the selected companies to ensure the projects are completed as soon as possible. The APC is working to finalize the preparations and start the projects after Eid al-Adha.
The municipality of Oued Ghir has received 9.7 billion Algerian dinars in funding from the state for the various projects. The APC is committed to using the funds efficiently and effectively to improve the lives of residents.
