The fourth ordinary session of the Bouira province people's assembly (APW) was held at the province's headquarters, bringing together elected officials, executive directors, mayors, and district chiefs. The meeting was presided over by the head of the APW and attended by outgoing Bouira wali, Mustapha Limani, who has been transferred to Sidi Bel-Abbès province. Limani will continue to serve as wali until the installation of his successor, Lekhal Ayat Abdeslam, later this week.
The session began with a presentation reviewing the main actions taken by the province's services to address recommendations made by the elected officials during the previous session. The first recommendation concerned connecting new neighborhoods and buildings to essential networks, including electricity, gas, potable water, and internet. Limani stated that firm instructions were given to the DUAC to ensure the completion of connection works before confirming their completion.
Limani provided examples of sites where connection works had been initiated, including POS AU 6 in Bouira, the 80-unit housing project in Lakhdaria, and 160-unit and 130-unit housing projects in Ahnif and Saharidj, respectively. These projects had started before the allocation of housing units. The wali emphasized the efforts made to implement the recommendations and address the needs of the population.
Another recommendation focused on creating playgrounds and green spaces in overcrowded neighborhoods. Limani reported that his services had implemented the 2009 ministerial note to establish a green plan for urban centers, identify suitable land for new green spaces, and inventory existing ones. Communal commissions had identified 118 green sites to be developed in 21 communes.
The wali also addressed the issue of connecting villages to potable water, stating that part of the 14 billion dinar financial envelope allocated from the national solidarity and guarantee fund would be dedicated to connecting 33 localities and sites to potable water. Additionally, 92 and 97 housing sites would be connected through the sectoral plan and communal development plans, respectively.
The session continued with a debate on the annual report presented by Algeria Telecom and Poste. However, elected officials from the RCD party boycotted the session, leaving the meeting room shortly after marking their presence. The works of the session continued in the afternoon, with a focus on development projects and addressing the needs of the population.
