Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has proceeded with a partial movement in the body of walis and delegated walis, as per the provisions of Article 92 of the Constitution. This reshuffle involves the appointment and dismissal of several officials in various provinces across the country. According to a communiqué from the Presidency of the Republic, the changes aim to reorganize the administrative leadership in several regions.
The reshuffle includes the dismissal of eight walis and six delegated walis from their positions. Those dismissed include Ahmed Mebarki, wali of Bechar; Mohamed Benomar, wali of Djelfa; Aissa Aroua, wali of Skikda; and Abdessami Saidoune, wali of Mostaganem, among others. Their replacements have been appointed as part of the same decree.
A total of 17 new walis and 14 delegated walis have been appointed to various provinces. Notably, Lakhdar Seddas has been appointed as the wali of Chlef, while Mohamed Belkateb takes over as the wali of Bechar. Other appointments include Mustapha Koriche as wali of Tamanrasset and Mohamed El Baraka Dehadj as wali of Tebessa.
The appointments also include Kamel Abla as the wali of Sétif, Abdelkader Bensaid as the wali of Skikda, and Kerbouch Kamel eddine as the wali of Guelma. In addition, Djahid Mous has been appointed as the wali of Médéa, and Aissa Boulahia as the wali of Mostaganem. These changes reflect the government's efforts to refresh its administrative team across different regions.
Among the delegated walis, Nacer Sebaa has been appointed as the delegated wali of Timimoun in Adrar province, while Azeddine Hemadi takes over as the delegated wali of Bordj Badji Mokhtar, also in Adrar. Other delegated walis appointed include Boubkeur Lensari for Ouled Djelal in Biskra and Abderrahmane Dehimi for Beni Abbès in Bechar.
The dismissed delegated walis include Mabrouk Oun, who was serving in Timimoune, wilaya of Adrar, and Samir Nefla, who was delegated wali of Dar El Beida in Algiers. Others who have been relieved of their duties include Djamal Gasmia, Ben Amor Kiyes, Farida Amrani, and Ahmed Boudouh, who were serving in various capacities in Algiers.
This partial reshuffle is part of President Tebboune's efforts to maintain a dynamic administrative leadership across Algeria's provinces.
