The Algerian Ministry of National Education has published the schedule for the 2026-2027 academic year. The calendar includes dates for quarterly exams and school holidays for primary, middle, and high school students. According to the ministry, the academic year will be marked by specific periods for exams and breaks. This move aims to provide clarity and organization for students, teachers, and parents across the country.

For primary education, quarterly exams are set to take place from December 6-10, 2026, for the first semester, March 2-8, 2027, for the second semester, and May 23-27, 2027, for the third semester. Similarly, middle school students in their first, second, and third years will have their exams during the same periods. The ministry has also specified that high school students in their first and second years will follow the same exam schedule as primary and middle school students.

The Algerian Ministry of Education has also announced the dates for school holidays. The autumn break will take place from October 27 to November 2, 2026. The winter break is scheduled from December 17, 2026, to January 3, 2027. Additionally, the spring break will occur from March 18 to April 4, 2027. These breaks are designed to provide students and teachers with necessary rest periods throughout the academic year.

The summer break will commence after the completion of third-semester exams, supplementary exams, and collective corrections. This allows students and staff to enjoy a prolonged period of rest before the start of the next academic year. The ministry's decision aims to ensure a balanced and productive academic calendar.

In addition to student breaks, the ministry has also announced the annual leave dates for employees. Teachers across all regions will begin their leave on July 8, 2027. Administrative staff in regions one and two will start their leave on July 22, 2027, while those in region three will begin on July 15, 2027. This ensures that employees receive their entitled leave periods.

The release of the academic calendar is part of the ministry's efforts to enhance organization and planning within the education sector. By providing clear dates for exams and holidays, the ministry aims to support a smooth and efficient academic year. This move is expected to positively impact students, teachers, and administrative staff across Algeria.

The Algerian Ministry of Education's publication of the 2026-2027 academic calendar reflects its commitment to transparency and effective planning. The detailed schedule allows stakeholders to prepare accordingly, ensuring that all parties are well-informed and aligned with the academic year's progression.
