The 14th edition of the North Africa and Mediterranean Energy and Hydrogen Conference and Exhibition, NAPEC 2026, is set to take place in Oran, Algeria, from October 5-7. Minister of State for Energy, Mohamed Arkab, will oversee the inauguration of the event, which is expected to draw over 450 exhibitors and more than 230 speakers. The conference will focus on the future of energy systems, discussing topics such as diversifying the energy mix, energy security, and carbon reduction.

The conference, taking place at the Mohamed Ben Ahmed Convention Centre in Oran, will bring together national and international oil and gas companies, technology providers, engineering and project management firms, as well as public institutions, research centers, and universities. The event aims to provide a platform for dialogue, experience sharing, and partnership building among industry stakeholders. The conference will address key issues related to the future of energy systems.

The opening ceremony will be attended by several high-profile guests, including Cornelia Shilunga, Special Advisor to the President of Namibia on Oil and Gas, and President of the Namibian Presidential Oil Unit, Algerian Minister of Energy and Renewable Energy, Mourad Adjali, and the Secretary-General of the African Petroleum Producers Organization, Frédérique Gazali.

The conference will discuss various topics, including the development of gas and hydrogen, low-carbon solutions, and the role of regulatory bodies in supporting investment and project implementation. The event will also focus on energy efficiency, digitalization, and artificial intelligence, as well as the integration of renewable energy sources and low-carbon technologies.

On the sidelines of the conference, Minister Arkab will hold a series of meetings with senior officials, CEOs, and representatives of major national and international companies operating in the oil and gas sector. The meetings aim to explore opportunities for enhanced cooperation, experience sharing, and new investment and partnership prospects.
