Algerian Minister of National Solidarity, Family, and Women's Affairs, Soria Mولوجي, has launched the 2026-2027 academic year for students with special needs. The launch ceremony took place at a school for children with hearing impairments in Bir El Bachir, Algiers. On this occasion, Mولوجي announced that over 40,000 students will join more than 277 educational institutions and 1,745 special sections, including 200 new special sections to be opened during this year.
The minister also announced the launch of a new digital platform called "مرافقكم" (Marafikukum), which aims to facilitate the follow-up of the academic path of students with special needs and enhance communication between the school environment and families. This platform is part of the efforts to provide better support to students and their families. The minister stated that the platform will enable the follow-up of students' academic progress and improve the quality of educational services.
Mولوجي also mentioned that the current academic year will see the opening of specialized centers for children with autism. This move is in line with the instructions of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and the government's commitments. The minister emphasized that the opening of these centers is accompanied by the preparation of an educational program based on scientific standards and adapted to different degrees and types of autism.
The minister highlighted that the program aims to provide specialized care that meets the needs of each child. She also mentioned that over 25 training courses have been organized, benefiting more than 1,078 participants from various sectors, including teachers, psychologists, and inspectors. These training courses aim to enhance the capabilities of human resources in the field of special education.
Mولوجي also reviewed several measures taken to support students with special needs, including a special school grant allocated to over 2.7 million beneficiaries. Additionally, over 186,000 school bags equipped with all the necessary supplies have been distributed. A special allocation has also been made for students in the province of Jijel.
The minister emphasized that the sector ensures wide social and psychological support for families and children, particularly through dialogue workshops and individual and group psychological sessions. This program will continue for over six months, with the possibility of extension if needed. Mولوجي also attended a model lesson on the theme of "School Health.. For a Healthy and Safe Future".
During her visit, Mولوجي also inspected a special section opened at the Mيمونة أم المؤمنين primary school in El Abiar and visited a school for children with visual impairments in El Achour. The minister assessed the readiness of these institutions and the availability of adapted educational tools. The visit aimed to ensure that students with special needs receive the necessary support to succeed in their academic pursuits.
