Algerian Minister of Vocational Training and Education Nacima Arhab has stated that entrepreneurship and innovation are essential for promoting youth employment in the country. She made this statement during the closing ceremony of a six-month event that brought together 356 trainees from over 20 training institutes. The event, organized in collaboration with the Injaz El Djazaïr association, aimed to provide young people with the skills and knowledge needed to access the job market.
The event featured a competition that saw 48 teams participate, with 12 teams qualifying for the final phase. During the final phase, teams presented innovative projects in various fields, including cybersecurity, tourism, healthcare, and energy. Some projects had even reached the prototype stage. Minister Arhab emphasized that the success of a project depends not only on its innovative idea but also on its ability to meet real needs, secure funding, and ensure sustainability.
Minister Arhab highlighted the importance of continuing to support projects beyond the competition stage, particularly those that have reached the final phase. She stressed that qualifying for the final phase is already a success, but the real challenge lies in turning these projects into viable and sustainable activities. The minister also emphasized the need for young people to develop solutions to real problems related to their professional fields and customer needs.
Rima Azzouz, Vice-President of Injaz El Djazaïr, considered the event an important step in consolidating a culture of initiative and entrepreneurship among vocational training and education graduates. She noted that the experience had revealed young talents capable of transforming their knowledge and skills into solutions and projects that address the challenges of their environment.
Azzouz emphasized the importance of associating trainees with entrepreneurship and innovation programs alongside their technical and vocational training. She expressed her wish for the initiative to be the starting point for sustainable support for young people and the development of their projects. The event also featured an award ceremony, where the winning teams were distinguished.
The "Hire Tex" project won the excellence prize, while "Safe DZ" received the social impact award. "Med Horizon" won the most innovative project prize, "Flux Pro" received the best product prize, and "Vermi Gold" won the best enterprise prize. The event demonstrated the potential of young Algerians to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems.
