Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf has been holding a series of meetings with his counterparts from various countries on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly. According to a statement by the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Attaf met with his Tunisian counterpart, Mohamed Ali Nafti. During the meeting with Nafti, Attaf and his counterpart reviewed the distinguished relations of brotherhood between Algeria and Tunisia and discussed ways to promote and elevate them to broader horizons, in line with the directives of the leaders of the two countries. They also expressed their commitment to continuing the path of strengthening cooperation and solidarity between Algeria and Tunisia and follow up on efforts to implement various cooperation programs and projects.
Attaf also met with Mozambican Foreign Minister Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas, where they reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and explored ways to enhance them, particularly through exchange of visits and development of cooperation in various fields. The two ministers expressed satisfaction with the positive dynamics that characterize relations between the two countries and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation.
In his meeting with Cameroonian Foreign Minister Lucine Mbellembila, Attaf discussed various aspects of bilateral cooperation and ways to give new impetus to relations between the two countries, particularly in the context of preparations for the upcoming Algerian-Cameroonian joint commission. The two ministers agreed to organize this important bilateral event as soon as possible to enable officials and economic actors to identify priority sectors.
Attaf also met with Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen, where they discussed the current state of bilateral relations and explored ways to enhance and expand them to areas such as energy, security, and migration. The two ministers exchanged views on security and political developments in the Sahel region, emphasizing the importance of adopting a comprehensive approach that combines development, security, and stability.
In addition, Attaf met with Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Anitta Orbán, where they discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation and preparations for the upcoming visit of the Hungarian Foreign Minister to Algeria. The two ministers explored new opportunities for partnership and investment, particularly in areas such as education, academic exchange, renewable energy, and culture.
