The Algerian government has announced a major housing distribution program to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of the country's liberation revolution. Minister of Housing, Urban Planning, and City, Mohamed Tarek Belaribi, revealed that over 133,780 housing units and assistance packages will be distributed nationwide. This initiative aims to provide housing solutions to citizens and improve living conditions.
The housing distribution program includes 3,789 units of the AADL 3 program, which is being launched in 12 provinces. Minister Belaribi emphasized that the AADL program has progressed from the registration phase in 2024 to the study of beneficiary files in 2025 and the launch of construction work in 2026. The program aims to deliver housing units to beneficiaries within a specific timeframe.
The Algerian government has been working to expand and accelerate the AADL 3 program, with a total of 850,000 housing units registered under the program in 2025 and 2026, and a projected budget for 2027. Minister Belaribi stressed that the success of the program is not measured by the number of projects announced but by the actual delivery of housing units to beneficiaries within the specified timeframe.
The national housing distribution program also includes over 36,000 public rental housing units, more than 36,000 social housing assistance packages, nearly 27,000 rural housing assistance packages, over 17,000 freehold housing units, and 200 public housing units. These initiatives are part of the government's efforts to address housing needs and provide affordable housing solutions.
The housing program is aligned with the country's development goals, as outlined by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, which include constructing and distributing 2 million housing units between 2025 and 2029. Minister Belaribi emphasized the importance of adhering to the values of the liberation revolution and ensuring that housing solutions meet the needs of citizens.
The minister also highlighted the need for continued coordination and effort among stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the housing program. He urged all parties involved to work together to achieve the set goals and fulfill the government's commitments to citizens.
The launch of the AADL 3 program and the distribution of housing units nationwide reflect the government's commitment to addressing housing needs and improving living conditions for Algerian citizens. The program is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of thousands of families.
