Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has carried out a partial reshuffle in the ranks of walis, delegated walis, and general secretaries of provinces, as per Article 92 of the Constitution. This move was announced by the Ministry of Interior, Local Communities, and Transport. The appointments aim to refresh and reorganize the administrative leadership across various provinces.
The appointments included assigning new walis to several provinces. These are: Abdelwahab Bertima to Tiaret, Nasser Zouakari to El Kantar, Jamal Boujazza to Bir El Ater, Abdelkarim Ben Baba Ali to El Arishe, Toufik Daoudi to Ksar El Chellala, Amar Marzouki to Ain Oussera, Ibrahim Oueddi to Messaad, Hamid Khalfawi to Ksar El Boukhari, Imrani Atal to Bou Saada, and Abd Rabhi Moden to El Bayadh.
In addition to the new appointments, the President also designated Nadir Batine as a delegated walia in the administrative district of Baraki, Algiers. This move also involved ending the assignments of several walis who were serving in delegated capacities. Those whose terms were ended include Said Boudalab in the administrative district of Brika, Boualam Alouache in the district of Ain Oussera, and Adel Daoudi in the district of Messaad.
The shake-up also extended to the general secretaries of provinces. New appointments in this category included: Mohamed Saber to Setif, Mohamed Amine Riah to Saida, Hamza Benzeghio to Annaba, Abdelkader Samawi to Illizi, Mohamed Nassari to Timimoun, Yahia Hadjadj to Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Abdel Salam Mouahobi to Affルー, Othman Mahieddine to Brika, Karim Amjkouh to Bir El Ater, and Chakib Mahamdioua to El Arishe.
Further appointments of general secretaries included: Adel Rahail to Ksar El Chellala, Zitouni Boudjlal to Ain Oussera, Nasira Abdelrahman to Messaad, Houssina Kassi to Ksar El Boukhari, and Abdelhamid Semati to Bou Saada. These appointments reflect a broader strategy to invigorate provincial administration.
Alongside these new appointments, the assignments of two general secretaries were brought to an end. Rashid Ben Youssef from Bechar was reassigned due to retirement, and Abdelkader Saadi from Saida also had his term ended.
