Algeria's Minister of Trade, Kamal Raziq, has emphasized the need to prioritize the African market in the country's external economic event program. This move aims to capitalize on promising trade opportunities and provide Algerian institutions with possibilities to expand their activities and access new markets. Raziq made these remarks while presiding over the installation of a multi-sectoral committee tasked with preparing Algeria's official participation program in international economic events for 2027 and 2028.

The committee, comprising representatives from various ministerial sectors, public institutions, and professional organizations, aims to ensure a coordinated approach to Algeria's participation in international economic events. Raziq highlighted the importance of adopting a precise economic and commercial approach in selecting target markets and events, taking into account the specific characteristics of each market, demand for Algerian products, and export capabilities.

The Minister stressed that Algeria's participation in international fairs and exhibitions should go beyond mere presence and product promotion, aiming to establish connections between Algerian exporters and foreign buyers, importers, and distributors. He also emphasized the need to organize special exhibitions for Algerian products in priority markets, facilitating direct promotion and business connections between Algerian and foreign institutions.

Raziq chaired the installation ceremony of the committee, which will be responsible for preparing a comprehensive program for Algeria's participation in international economic events. The program will include participation in fairs and exhibitions, as well as the organization of special exhibitions for Algerian products in foreign markets. This initiative aims to enhance Algeria's economic presence and boost its trade relations with other countries.

The Minister expressed his condolences to the family and relatives of the late Director of the Presidency of the Republic, Boualam Boualam, who passed away recently. The ceremony began with a minute of silence and a reading of the Quran.

Algeria's efforts to strengthen its economic presence in Africa are part of a broader strategy to diversify its economy and reduce its dependence on oil exports. By prioritizing the African market, Algeria aims to increase its trade with neighboring countries and establish itself as a key player in regional economic affairs.

The country's participation in international economic events is expected to increase in the coming years, with a focus on promoting Algerian products and attracting foreign investment. The government's efforts to enhance Algeria's economic presence are likely to have a positive impact on the country's economic growth and development.
