Algeria is set to embark on a groundbreaking export operation of non-hydrocarbon products, involving multiple companies from various regions of the country. The initiative, coordinated by the Ministry of Interior and Local Authorities, aims to boost the nation's non-oil and gas exports and showcase the vast potential of Algerian industries and craftsmanship. This effort coincides with the 72nd anniversary of the outbreak of the national liberation war.

The operation, scheduled for November 7, will feature prominent companies such as Condor and Faderco, which have confirmed their participation. According to Mohamed Daas, CEO of Condor, the company will export 400 containers of electrical appliances and metalwork to several countries, including Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Libya, and Mauritania. Condor, based in Bordj Bou Arreridj, is a leading Algerian manufacturer of electrical appliances.

Faderco, a leading Algerian producer of hygiene products, will also participate in the operation, exporting around 50 containers to the United States, the United Kingdom, Tunisia, and Côte d'Ivoire. The company's CEO, Amor Habes, confirmed that the exports will include hygiene products and raw materials. This operation marks a significant milestone in Algeria's efforts to diversify its economy and increase non-hydrocarbon exports.

This is not Algeria's first export operation of non-hydrocarbon products. On April 11, the country launched a large-scale export campaign to 19 countries, involving companies from 13 provinces. The participating provinces included El M'Ghair, Mostaganem, Relizane, Oran, Tizi Ouzou, Sétif, Jijel, Alger, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Annaba, Béjaïa, Skikda, and Biskra.

Algeria's goal is to reach $5 billion in non-oil and gas exports by 2026, according to Zohir Moussaoui, Director Central at the Ministry of Trade and Export Promotion. In the first eight months of 2026, the country exported $4 billion worth of non-hydrocarbon products. The government is actively working to support and promote Algerian industries and enhance their competitiveness in the global market.

The upcoming export operation is seen as a strategic move to bolster Algeria's economic diversification efforts and promote its industrial and craft sectors. By showcasing the capabilities of Algerian companies, the government aims to attract new investors and strengthen the country's position in the global market. The participation of prominent companies like Condor and Faderco underscores the potential for growth and development in Algeria's non-hydrocarbon sector.

The export operation is also expected to have a positive impact on Algeria's economy, creating new job opportunities and generating revenue. As the country continues to navigate the challenges of economic diversification, this initiative marks a significant step towards reducing its dependence on hydrocarbon exports and promoting sustainable economic growth.
