The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments in Algeria has launched a national competition for 1200 positions in specialized training for various ranks in the sector. The competition, which is based on exams, aims to fill positions in five ranks: Imam Khateeb, Imam Waaz, Quranic Education Teacher, Muezzin, and Qaim. The competition will offer 50 positions for Imam Khateeb at the National School for Training and Improving the Level of Cadres for Religious Affairs and Endowments in Algiers. There will be 400 positions for Imam Waaz, 250 for Quranic Education Teachers, 250 for Muezzins, and 250 for Qaims. These positions will be distributed across various specialized training institutions under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments.
The eligibility criteria for each rank vary. For example, candidates for Imam Khateeb must have a certificate of memorizing the entire Quran and a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Islamic sciences. Candidates for Imam Waaz must have a certificate of memorizing the entire Quran, which must not be more than two years old for those who obtained it after the fourth stage of Quranic education.
The competition is open to candidates from various states in Algeria, including Algiers, Laghouat, Batna, Biskra, Bouira, Tlemcen, Tizi Ouzou, Saida, Illizi, Mila, Ghlizan, Tamanrasset, Constantine, Ain Salah, and Bejaia. The number of positions allocated to each state and institution varies.
Candidates must submit their applications, which include a handwritten request, a copy of their national identity card, a copy of their diploma or required certificate, and other documents required for each rank. The deadline for submitting applications is 15 working days from the date of the first announcement in the written press.
Successful candidates will be required to complete their files with administrative and medical documents, including medical certificates, solar photos, and documents proving their status regarding national service. The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments has called on interested candidates to consult the official website and official bulletin for more information on the competition and the conditions for each rank.
The Ministry emphasized that incomplete files or those submitted outside the specified deadline will not be considered. The competition aims to recruit qualified individuals to work in the sector and provide them with specialized training to perform their duties effectively.
