Algeria and Saudi Arabia have taken steps to bolster their cooperation in the fight against corruption. M'hamed Djellaoui, interim president of Algeria's High Authority for Transparency, Prevention, and Anti-Corruption, recently held a working session with a delegation from Saudi Arabia's Control and Anti-Corruption Authority in Doha, Qatar. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 6th session of the Conference of States Parties to the Arab Convention against Corruption.
The session provided an opportunity for both parties to present several projects and programs aimed at enhancing transparency, prevention, and anti-corruption efforts. They also exchanged views on practices adopted in both countries to develop working mechanisms in this field. Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation, exchanging expertise, and adopting best practices to contribute to institutional action development.
The meeting was attended by Algerian Ambassador to Qatar Salah Attia. The Algerian delegation, led by Djellaoui, also held a working session with the Kuwaiti State's Authority for Combating Corruption, led by President Dr. Rana Abdullah Al-Fares. The Kuwaiti meeting was held at the invitation of the Authority.
During the Kuwaiti meeting, the Algerian delegation reviewed key projects and programs in the transparency, prevention, and anti-corruption domains. They presented Algeria's experience in these areas, particularly regarding the National Strategy for Transparency, Prevention, and Anti-Corruption. Both parties exchanged views and experiences on control work and examined ongoing projects.
The sessions allowed for a beneficial exchange of expertise and best practices between the Algerian and Kuwaiti authorities. They discussed ways to develop bilateral cooperation, expand training and expertise exchange, and enhance coordination between the two bodies. The goal is to support joint efforts to promote integrity, transparency, and anti-corruption mechanisms.
