The hospital's emergency unit received 4,889 patients, with 2,446 cases admitted to the surgical emergency department and over 200 cases admitted to the internal medicine emergency department. A total of 3,857 new patients were admitted to the hospital for further treatment, either from emergency departments or outpatient clinics.
Dr. Tamer Abdullah stated that the hospital performed 905 emergency surgeries during September, covering various surgical specialties. These surgeries included 533 cosmetic procedures, 120 exploratory surgeries in general surgery, 85 neurosurgery procedures, 36 vascular surgeries, and 36 joint surgeries. Additionally, 32 surgeries were conducted in collaboration with oral and maxillofacial surgery, 29 orthopedic surgeries, 23 ear, nose, and throat surgeries, 10 urology surgeries, and 6 cardiac and thoracic surgeries.
In addition to emergency surgeries, the hospital conducted over 1,100 scheduled surgeries, bringing the total number of surgeries performed during September to over 2,100. Scheduled surgeries included 355 ophthalmology procedures, 300 surgeries in gastroenterology, thoracic surgery, oncology, and vascular surgery. The hospital also performed 299 urology and endoscopy procedures and 147 neurosurgery and spinal procedures.
The hospital's critical care services received 490 new cases during September, demonstrating its capacity to handle critical cases and provide specialized medical care. In the field of diagnostic testing, the radiology department conducted 6,303 CT scans, 2,475 regular X-rays, 1,551 ultrasound examinations, 770 MRI scans, and 697 Doppler ultrasound examinations.
The hospital's oncology and nuclear medicine department provided 1,297 chemotherapy sessions, 1,112 cases using linear accelerators, 258 mammography procedures, 108 nuclear medicine scans, and 57 radiation therapy cases. Other medical services provided during the month included 636 dialysis sessions, 398 cases handled by the toxicology unit, and 380 endoscopy and catheterization procedures.
