Dr. Arabi Abouzid, Director of the Alexandria Education Directorate, conducted a field visit to several schools in the east of the city on Sunday, September 27, 2026, to monitor the start of the new academic year 2026/2027. The visit aimed to ensure the regularity of the educational process and the presence of students and teachers. This comes in line with the directives of Mohamed Abdellatif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and Ayman Attia, Governor of Alexandria.
The visit included several schools in the East Alexandria Educational Administration, including the Martyr Mohamed Ahmed Abdo Primary School. Dr. Abouzid made sure to be present inside the classrooms and closely follow the details of the school day. He emphasized that real field follow-up begins inside the classroom and through direct communication with students and teachers.
During the visit, Dr. Abouzid followed up on the regularity of classes and school schedules, the level of discipline within the school, student densities, and the regularity of administrative work. He also ensured that textbooks had been delivered to students, stressing the need to deliver books to all students without linking this to any financial procedures.
Dr. Abouzid also inspected the available equipment and capabilities at the school, directing that they be used to support the educational process and school activities. This would help discover students' talents, develop their skills, and encourage them to read, research, and experiment. He also emphasized the importance of using modern technology tools in learning.
During his meeting with students, Dr. Abouzid had a direct and simple conversation, listening to their opinions and impressions about their school day. He directed several motivational messages to them, stressing the importance of regular attendance, active participation in the classroom, and following up on lessons. He also clarified that the school is not just a place to receive lessons but a comprehensive environment for building personality, discovering abilities, and developing skills.
Dr. Abouzid pointed out that the teacher is one of the most important pillars of the success of the educational process, praising the efforts made by teachers in performing their message. He stressed the importance of continuing to provide and employ modern learning methods and technology to raise the level of students. He also emphasized the need for discipline and regularity in attending classes to ensure students benefit fully from the academic year.
Dr. Abouzid confirmed that the field follow-up does not aim only to monitor the regularity of study but also to listen to the voice of the school from within, identify actual challenges and needs, and support teachers. He stressed that he would continue his field visits to various schools in the governorate to support the stability of study and enhance direct communication with students, teachers, and school administrations.
