The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, has directed heads of federal government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to commence grassroots campaigns for President Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027. Akume made this call while receiving a delegation of the Forum of CEOs of Federal Parastatals, led by its Convener/Chairman, Kazeem Raji. The forum aims to mobilize 10 million votes for President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Akume emphasized the need for effective grassroots communication to correct false narratives surrounding current economic reforms. He charged the forum to cascade government reforms and achievements down to the grassroots to counter disinformation and project the true impact of the administration's policies. The Forum of CEOs of Federal Parastatals was conferred with the mandate to mobilize a minimum of 10 million votes for President Tinubu ahead of the January 16, 2027 presidential election. Akume commended the forum for organizing themselves into a cohesive body with a shared vision. He noted that the structures on the ground and mathematical projections make their proposed target of mobilizing 10 million votes for President Tinubu achievable.
