Apostle Dr. Bolaji O. Akinyemi, Convener of the Apostolic Round Table (ART), will embark on a tour of Nigeria's North Central geo-political zone. The tour, which begins in Jos, Plateau State, aims to bring together Christian leaders, professionals, civic actors, young people, and political stakeholders for a critical conversation on Nigeria's future. The event, scheduled for October 22, 2026, will take place at Covenant Word Christian Centre International in Jos.
The Apostolic Round Table's North Central Tour is designed as a Christian sensitisation conversation within the broader citizen mobilisation required to build a Nigeria in which citizens understand their responsibility to shape the nation they desire. According to Akinyemi, the conversation in Jos is not another conference for speeches and photographs, but a platform for citizens to engage in meaningful discussions on leadership and the future of Nigeria.
The event will feature expert presentations, citizen interrogation, and political accountability. Three distinguished experts have been invited to provide sector-specific perspectives. These include General Henry Ayoola, who will examine Nigeria's security challenges with a focus on Plateau State; Dr. Ekaette Ettang, who will discuss the state of education and human capital development; and an unnamed third expert.
The Apostolic Round Table's partnership with the Church Electoral Sensitisation Initiative (CESI) and the Citizen Advancement and Development Initiatives (CADI) aims to galvanise churches and Christians towards informed and responsible participation in the 2027 electoral process. This partnership will provide materials for voter education and strengthen citizens' understanding of the electoral process.
Plateau State has been chosen as a case study for examining some of the most urgent questions confronting Nigeria, particularly security, education, agriculture, citizenship, and leadership. The event will be hosted by Dr. Dunka Gomwalk, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Plateau State, with Akinyemi leading the conversation as keynote speaker.
Akinyemi's initiative is built on a question he raised in a recent intervention, 'Where Are the Four Lepers of the Middle Belt?' This question challenges the Middle Belt to move beyond lamentation and convert its faith, intellect, courage, and collective experience into organised and strategic action. The Apostolic Round Table seeks to provide a credible, non-partisan network for electoral sensitisation and civic education.
The North Central Tour of the Apostolic Round Table is part of a broader effort to promote citizen engagement and responsibility in shaping Nigeria's future. The event in Jos will combine expert presentations, citizen interrogation, and political accountability, providing a platform for citizens to engage in meaningful discussions on leadership and the future of Nigeria.
