This role requires a strong background in soil science, agronomy, agricultural engineering, environmental science, or waste management. The position offers an attractive package and is a key role in ensuring the plant's environmental compliance and product quality.

The Composting Site By-Product Operations Manager will be responsible for formulating optimal feedstock recipes, balancing C:N ratio, porosity, and moisture content using factory pomace/organic by-products and carbon bulking agents. They will also establish and monitor daily windrow/pile metrics, including core temperatures, moisture content, and pH. This will involve determining optimal aeration and mechanical turning frequencies to maintain aerobic conditions and prevent foul odor generation. The manager will supervise daily material handling, including receiving incoming by-products, stockpiling bulking agents, and pile formation.

The successful candidate will oversee stormwater and leachate management systems to prevent runoff and ensure full environmental compliance. They will also coordinate equipment usage, maintenance, and safety, including wheel loaders, turners, and trommel. Quality control and product maturation will be a key responsibility, involving tracking stability and maturity, managing curing, screening, and grading of final compost to meet national standards and commercial specifications. The manager will maintain operational logs of batch volumes, temperatures, curing times, and output yields.

To qualify for this role, candidates must have a Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma in a relevant field, such as soil science, agronomy, agricultural engineering, environmental science, or waste management. A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in managing medium-to-large-scale aerobic windrow composting, commercial soil amendment production, or organic municipal/agro-industrial waste facilities is also required. Familiarity with composting microbiology, moisture balancing, and thermophilic organic degradation is essential.

The Composting Site By-Product Operations Manager must have strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. They must be able to think strategically, pursue high standards of excellence, and work under pressure to meet deadlines. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is also crucial. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with workplace health and safety protocols and environmental guidelines.

Interested candidates should submit their CV, cover letter highlighting relevant composting or agro-waste experience, and copies of academic credentials to Agro Processing Plant.
