AfroQuality, a multi-country physical retail and distribution platform for African brands, has opened its flagship store in Accra, Ghana. The store, which opened on Friday, September 25, 2026, brings together African fashion, lifestyle, and literary brands, providing manufacturers, designers, publishers, and artisans with retail infrastructure to access markets across the continent. This move aims to expand access to Pan-African markets for African brands.

The Accra outlet is part of AfroQuality's efforts to scale authentic African brands across the continent. The company has already established operations in Kigali, Rwanda; Dakar, Senegal; Nairobi, Kenya; and Lusaka, Zambia. The platform provides manufacturers, designers, publishers, and artisans with the infrastructure needed to reach regional and global markets. This infrastructure includes a curated portfolio of independent producers across apparel, footwear, accessories, and literature.

The Accra flagship store features a range of Ghanaian brands, including BLKSTAR UTD, Wear Ghana, Love Ankara, Gold Coast Tokota, Cheery Concepts, Horseman, Fish & Plankton Books, and Kwadwoan Story Books. Other African brands featured at the store include Enda Sports Shoes, Ikojn, and Sandstorm from Kenya; Piesco Memory from Togo; Sonia Mugabo from Rwanda; and Aramweer Organics and KELAM from South Sudan. This showcase of African brands highlights the diversity and richness of African fashion, lifestyle, and literature.

According to Mr. Saint Doe Tamakloe, AfroQuality seeks to build the physical retail infrastructure required to enable African manufacturers to expand across borders. He stated that by uniting regional talent in a world-class environment, AfroQuality is accelerating intra-African commerce while offering consumers an elevated lifestyle space. This vision aims to promote African brands and increase their visibility across the continent.

The AfroQuality platform allows businesses to leverage an existing regional network instead of developing separate routes to market in each country. Mr. Tamakloe explained that this approach enables brands to test markets, reach new customers, and grow their revenues across borders. This streamlined process can help African businesses overcome the challenges of expanding beyond their home markets.

The opening of the Accra flagship store was marked by a pop-up sale featuring clothing brands Wear Ghana and Republic of Africa, as well as footwear and leather apparel brand Horseman. Mr. Tonyi Senayah, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Horseman, noted that the partnership with AfroQuality had enabled his brand to establish a presence in other African markets, including Kigali, Nairobi, and Dakar.

Ms. Awura Abena Agyeman, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Wear Ghana and Republic of Africa, expressed excitement about the partnership with AfroQuality, saying it brought her brands closer to achieving their Pan-African ambitions. The partnership is expected to help African retail businesses address the difficulties they face in expanding beyond their home markets, including distribution, retail, logistics, and market access challenges.
