The Member of Parliament for Adentan, Mohammed Adamu Ramadan, has expressed confidence that the government, in collaboration with the Adentan Municipal Assembly, is working to address the development needs of the municipality. At a town hall meeting in Amanfro, he assured residents that the government's development projects are already evident, despite being in office for less than two years. The meeting, themed "Let's come together, share ideas and build a better Adentan Municipality," brought together various stakeholders.

The town hall meeting provided a platform for residents, traditional leaders, assembly members, and development partners to engage with the MP and the Municipal Assembly. Mr. Ramadan emphasized that President Mahama had decided to allocate 80 percent of the District Assemblies Common Fund to the assemblies to accelerate development. This move, he said, is contributing to faster development at the assembly level. The meeting aimed to foster collaboration and ensure that development projects align with the needs of the community.

Road infrastructure remains a significant challenge in the Adentan Municipality, with 1,078 kilometers of roads in need of repair. However, Mr. Ramadan reported that efforts are being made to fix the roads, with 158 kilometers already tarred. The assembly is also using its Internally Generated Fund judiciously to support development needs. The MP expressed his commitment to continuing to work for the betterment of the municipality, citing his retention of the seat as a testament to his constituents' appreciation of his work.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Ella Esinam Christine Nongo, highlighted the importance of the town hall meeting in educating residents on how the assembly operates. She emphasized that the MP and the assembly cannot build what the residents want without their input. The meeting provided an opportunity for departmental heads to brief participants on their mandates, and Linder Doreen Ashong of SSNIT educated workers on the need to enroll in the scheme.

The town hall meeting also introduced the SSNIT Membership Value Programme, which offers active members, contributors, and pensioners discounts through partnerships with Ecobank Ghana PLC and selected retail outlets. Participants asked questions on the municipality's development needs, which were addressed by the assembly's management and the MP. The meeting demonstrated the government's commitment to public participation in the development process.

Mr. Ramadan, who is serving his second term, noted that the Adentan seat had previously been a one-term position for his predecessors. He expressed his gratitude to his constituents for re-electing him and reaffirmed his commitment to working for their benefit. The MP's retention of the seat is seen as a testament to his efforts to address the development needs of the municipality.

The Adentan Municipal Assembly's efforts to engage with residents and development partners demonstrate its commitment to transparent and inclusive governance. The town hall meeting provided a platform for stakeholders to share ideas and contribute to the development of the municipality. Key initiatives, such as the allocation of 80 percent of the District Assemblies Common Fund to the assemblies, aim to accelerate development and address the needs of the community.
