The Ada West District Assembly has completed and handed over educational and sanitation facilities at Bornikope and Koluedor. The projects aim to improve basic infrastructure in the communities. At Bornikope, a three-unit classroom JHS block with an office and store was handed over to the D/A Basic School. This development is part of the assembly's efforts to enhance education in the area.

In Koluedor, the assembly handed over a newly constructed 10-seater KVIP toilet facility for the Koluedor Basic School and a renovated 10-seater water-closet toilet facility. These sanitation projects were undertaken to address the issue of pupils defecating in the open. The district chief executive, Mr. Modjifa Tanihu J.J.F. Mills-Nkrumah, noted that the assembly prioritized education and sanitation infrastructure due to their direct impact on residents' welfare and development.

The Ada West District Chief Executive, Mr. Mills-Nkrumah, stated that the projects formed part of an estimated GH¢4.3 million investment in development projects funded through the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) since September 2025. The assembly has invested in various development projects across communities, including Koluedor, Sege, Lolonya, Luhour, Aditcherekope, and Bornikope. These projects aim to improve the overall quality of life for residents in the district.

Mr. Mills-Nkrumah revealed that the Koluedor sanitation project was initiated after he observed pupils defecating in the open. He discovered that the existing toilet facility was damaged and required attention. The assembly renovated the facility to prevent the school from being overburdened and to improve sanitation in the community. The intervention aims to promote a healthier environment for pupils and residents.

The headmistress of Koluedor RC Primary, Ms. Rita Kassalowoe, expressed gratitude to the assembly for the timely intervention. She pledged that the school would ensure proper management and maintenance of the facilities to serve pupils for an extended period. The projects were formally handed over to the beneficiary communities after joint inspections by the assembly, contractors, Assembly Members, and community leaders.

The Ada West District Assembly has completed eight development projects under phase one of its development programme. The assembly plans to pursue additional development projects in the district, including classrooms, teachers' bungalows, health facilities, and a 24-hour market at Sege. These projects demonstrate the assembly's commitment to improving infrastructure and services in the district.

The handover of the educational and sanitation facilities marks a significant milestone in the assembly's efforts to enhance basic infrastructure in the communities. The projects are expected to have a positive impact on the welfare and development of residents in the district. The assembly's investment in education and sanitation infrastructure reflects its prioritization of residents' needs and well-being.
