The Academy of Innovative Research, Science and Technological Development (ACIRSTD) is set to host an international conference on science, engineering, and sustainable green technology. The conference, scheduled for October 29, 2026, aims to explore solutions to environmental and climate challenges. It will bring together researchers, scientists, engineers, policymakers, and industry leaders to share knowledge and innovations.

According to Amb. Prof. Akin Ogunsakin, Lead Facilitator and Executive Vice President/Chief Executive Officer of ACIRSTD, the conference will provide a platform for presenting cutting-edge research and practical innovations in renewable energy, green engineering, waste management, and climate-resilient technologies. The event is timely, as science and engineering need to emphasize environmental sustainability.

The conference will align with the United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development and focus on advancing sustainable, inclusive, and evidence-based solutions towards achieving the 2030 Agenda. It will examine national challenges relating to climate change, environmental protection, disaster resilience, agriculture, and food security.

The program will focus on four major areas: renewable energy and efficiency, green engineering and manufacturing, digital transformation and artificial intelligence, and climate resilience and policy. Discussions on renewable energy will examine developments in solar, wind, and green hydrogen technologies.

The conference will feature keynote presentations, technical sessions, oral and poster presentations, as well as networking opportunities involving researchers, educators, scientists, technologists, innovators, industry professionals, and policymakers. Findings from the conference will contribute to strengthening Nigeria's national innovation system.

Papers presented at the conference will be published in the conference's Abstracts E-book, while selected high-quality papers may be considered for publication in the International Journal of Scientific Research, Innovation and Technological Development (IJSRITD). A major highlight of the event will be the formal induction of newly elected Fellows of the Academy of Researchers, Scientists and Technologists.

Expected chief guests and speakers include the Ministers of Science, Technology and Innovation; Education; Art, Culture and Creative Economy; State for Petroleum Resources (Gas); Power; Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy; Labour and Employment; and Aviation and Aerospace. The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) is also expected to participate in the event.
