Additionally, they can download their voter details as a PDF after verification. If no details appear, it may indicate that they are not registered to vote or that the entered information is incorrect.

Joseph Mathenge, a Senior ICT Officer, Security Analyst, and Software Engineer at the IEBC, provided insight into the process behind the voter verification portal. He explained that the verification system is an online form that helps search the records held by IEBC. When individuals enter their ID or passport number and year of birth, the system validates the information and uses it to search the relevant voter-registration records.
According to Mathenge, if there is a matching record, the system retrieves the information that the Commission is authorised to display and presents it to the voter. He also highlighted that behind the seemingly straightforward process lies a much larger electoral information system, involving a comprehensive registration process that includes biographical and biometric information capture, centralised data consolidation, and biometric de-duplication.
