Kensa Sangaré, a widow and vendor of second-hand clothing, has been living in anguish for five days after losing her 7-year-old son in Conakry, Guinea. The incident occurred on Monday while she was traveling from Madina to Kipé with her son. According to Sangaré, a motorcyclist who was transporting them took advantage of a traffic slowdown in Hamdallaye to disappear with the child and a package containing her merchandise and a large sum of money.
Sangaré had taken her son to the Ratoma hospital for a consultation earlier that day as he was unwell. After receiving prescriptions, they went to the Madina market to make purchases for her business. She loaded her merchandise into a package and hired a motorcyclist to take them to Kipé Métal Guinée for 30,000 Guinean francs. The motorcyclist attached the package to his motorcycle, and they set off.
The motorcyclist drove them to Hamdallaye Escadron, where he asked Sangaré to get off, citing the presence of law enforcement. Sangaré agreed to dismount and follow him on foot until they passed the police checkpoint. However, as they were following each other, a traffic congestion created a moment of confusion, and a large truck blocked her view. The motorcyclist took advantage of the situation to disappear with Sangaré's son and the package containing 4 million Guinean francs.
Sangaré had brought a total of 8 million Guinean francs for her purchases. She had planned to buy various items, including pants, underwear, shirts, and tank tops, but there were not enough items that met her requirements. Her client advised her to combine the purchases into a single package to facilitate transportation with her child. Sangaré is now frantically searching for her son and has filed a complaint with the gendarmerie.
Despite the ordeal, Sangaré continues to run her stall in Kipé, as she needs to work to support herself. She returns to the scene of the incident every day, hoping to find her son. Sangaré's son has difficulty expressing himself and can only say "Soryba Cissé." As a single mother, she is desperate for help and is counting on the public to provide any information that could lead to her son's safe return.
Sangaré's situation is made more complicated by her son's health issues. The 7-year-old has difficulty speaking and is an orphan, having lost his father. Sangaré is urging anyone with information about her son's disappearance to come forward and assist her in finding him.
As the search for her son continues, Sangaré remains hopeful that she will be reunited with him soon. Her case has garnered attention from local media, and she is relying on the public's assistance to bring her child home.
