The annual medical conference of Zagazig University's Faculty of Human Medicine concluded recently, in collaboration with Japan's Toyama University. The event took place at the faculty's new scientific center, under the chairmanship of Dr. Mahmoud Taha, Dean of the Faculty and head of the University Hospitals' Board of Directors. The conference was attended by prominent university officials, including Dr. Khaled El-Derandeli, President of Zagazig University, and Dr. Ihab El-Bablawi, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research.
The two-day conference featured 21 scientific sessions, including presentations of international research papers by students from the medical faculties of Zagazig and Toyama universities. A total of 95 research papers were presented and published internationally, alongside 29 electronic posters covering various medical and research specialties. The event provided a platform for knowledge sharing and exchange among medical professionals.
On the sidelines of the conference, the Japanese delegation visited the training centers and central laboratory of the medical faculty to familiarize themselves with the available research and training capabilities. They expressed their admiration for the faculty's level of development in scientific and research fields. A documentary film showcasing the history of scientific and academic relations between Egypt and Japan was also screened.
The conference included a special session for "Ambassadors of Zagazig Medical Graduates" working in American, Canadian, and British universities, who shared their international experiences in various medical specialties. For the first time, the conference witnessed significant student participation in research sessions and joint discussions, with prizes awarded for the best participating research papers to encourage scientific excellence.
Dr. Khaled El-Derandeli emphasized that the partnership with Toyama University reflects Zagazig University's international standing and contributes to exchanging expertise, opening new avenues for academic cooperation.
