The Compagnie du TransGuinéen (CTG) organized a ceremony on October 6 at Morebaya to mark the departure of 60 young Guinean talents to China. They will undergo specialized training in railway operations, a critical component in the development of the Simandou project. This initiative aims to equip Guinean youth with the skills needed to manage and maintain the country's railway infrastructure.

General Amara Camara addressed the departing youths, emphasizing the importance of developing national competencies to sustainably support the Simandou project. Under the leadership of President Mamadi Doumbouya, the project seeks to transform Guinea through infrastructure development, job creation, and skills development. The general highlighted that Simandou is not just a mining project but a comprehensive initiative that includes infrastructure development and creation of employment opportunities.

The Simandou project's railway corridor is an impressive infrastructure that spans approximately 650 kilometers of double-track railway lines, featuring tunnels and bridges. General Camara stressed that such infrastructure requires qualified human resources to operate, maintain, and sustain it over time. This underscores the significance of the training that the youths will receive in China.

The initiative aligns with the objectives of Simandou Academy, which aims to develop the competencies required by Guinea today. The goal is to prepare a new generation of talents capable of supporting the Simandou project and the country's development for the well-being of its population. This project is a strategic move to ensure that Guineans are at the forefront of managing and maintaining the country's infrastructure.

General Amara Camara advised the youths that their mission in China should not be limited to acquiring knowledge but also to discovering new technologies and methods of work. He encouraged them to benefit from China's vast expertise in railway operations and to see their experience as an opportunity to learn and grow. The training will enable them to contribute effectively to Guinea's development upon their return.

The general also emphasized the importance of transferring competencies acquired during their stay in China. He urged the beneficiaries to share their knowledge and experiences with their colleagues and other Guineans upon their return. This, he believes, is crucial for the actual transfer of skills that the country needs to move forward.

The training of these 60 young Guineans in China is a significant step towards achieving self-sufficiency in managing and maintaining Guinea's railway infrastructure. Upon completion of their training, they are expected to play a pivotal role in the implementation and sustainability of the Simandou project, contributing to the country's economic growth and development.
