In a significant development for youth empowerment in Guinea, 51 young individuals, comprising 46 men and 5 women, have successfully completed a comprehensive training program in heavy-duty truck driving. This initiative was made possible through a collaborative effort between the Agence de Sécurité et de Circulation Automobile Départementale (ASCAD) and the GUICOPRES Group. The training, which lasted for three months, was designed to equip the trainees with practical skills, emphasizing 70% hands-on experience and 30% theoretical knowledge.

The training program is part of a long-standing commitment by GUICOPRES to support the development of Guinea's youth. Under the leadership of its President and General Director, Kerfalla CAMARA, the company has been working closely with ASCAD to provide young people with valuable skills and enhance their employability. This partnership aligns with the Guinean government's priorities, as outlined by President Mamadi Doumbouya, who emphasizes the importance of youth empowerment in the country's development agenda.

The partnership between GUICOPRES and ASCAD has been hailed as a model for successful collaboration between the private sector and public institutions. Karamo II KABA, Deputy General Director of GUICOPRES, highlighted the company's commitment to supporting the training of young Guineans, stating that ASCAD embodies a key presidential priority in this regard. He also emphasized that GUICOPRES offers not only training but also a genuine professional framework for outstanding trainees within the company.

Amadou Keïta, Deputy General Director of ASCAD, praised GUICOPRES as a valued partner that contributes significantly to the training of vulnerable young people, facilitating their socio-professional integration. He stressed that this collaboration supports the government's policy of prioritizing youth qualification and commended GUICOPRES for its investment in Guinean youth, underscoring the importance of respecting local content.

The partnership has yielded tangible results, with five women among the trainees benefiting from this opportunity, illustrating the opening up of a traditionally male-dominated profession. The ASCAD and GUICOPRES have decided to expand their collaboration to other fields, including plumbing, electricity, and maintenance, further enhancing the prospects for young Guineans.

Aissatou Keita, speaking on behalf of the trainees, expressed her gratitude to GUICOPRES and ASCAD for the invaluable skills and experience gained during the training program. She emphasized that the partnership demonstrates the potential for concrete outcomes when private enterprises and public institutions work together to empower young people.

The successful completion of this training program marks a significant milestone in the efforts to address youth unemployment and promote socio-professional integration in Guinea. As the country continues to prioritize youth development, partnerships like the one between ASCAD and GUICOPRES will play a vital role in shaping the future of its young population.
