The 31st edition of Mali's Solidarity Month and Fight Against Exclusion has begun with a significant act of solidarity in Bamako. On October 1, 2026, 4,800 vulnerable individuals from communes I, II, III, and IV of the Bamako District received 800 food kits. The kits, containing 50 kg of maize, 50 kg of rice, 10 kg of sugar, and 20 liters of oil, were distributed to people with disabilities, elderly individuals, and female heads of households.

The distribution was led by the Social Works team of the President of the Transition, headed by Mr. Aguibou Dembele, Special Advisor for Social Works. This event marks one of the first major activities of the 31st edition, following the launch by Minister of Health and Social Development, Major Medical Colonel Assa Badiallo Toure. The Ministry was represented by the Minister's Chief of Cabinet.

The event took place at the Chaba football field in Lafiabougou, where beneficiaries and local authorities gathered to receive the food kits. Representatives of the beneficiaries and local leaders expressed gratitude for the solidarity action and prayed for peace and prosperity in Mali.

In his remarks, Mr. Aguibou Dembele emphasized the importance of showing solidarity towards vulnerable individuals and encouraged the country's forces to continue these actions beyond the month of October. He stressed that such initiatives should not be limited to a single month but rather become a continuous effort.

The 31st edition of the Solidarity Month and Fight Against Exclusion is themed "Solidarity, a lever for promoting culture and civic education." Various activities will be carried out throughout October to support vulnerable populations across the country. The initiative aims to foster a culture of solidarity and civic responsibility.

The event was attended by administrative authorities, local collectives, traditional leaders, and technical services.
