A 35-year-old man, Rayyanu Ibrahim, has been arrested in Jigawa State, Nigeria, for allegedly vandalising the Birnin Kudu Township Water Station. The Divisional Officer, Birnin Kudu Division, CSC A.S. Adam, immediately mobilised operatives to investigate the incident. The suspect was arrested at about 1100 hours on the same day with an armoured cable allegedly removed from the facility.
The NSCDC operatives recovered the armoured cable as an exhibit, and during preliminary investigation, the suspect allegedly confessed to his involvement in the incident. He disclosed information about other cable theft cases, stating that the stolen cables were being sold to scrap dealers. The command has expanded its investigation to identify and apprehend other persons allegedly connected to the criminal activities.
The Jigawa State Commandant, CC Muhammad Ingawa, reiterated the corps’ commitment to protecting critical national assets and infrastructure.
