A Tunisian business delegation, led by the Tunisian-African Business Council, is set to visit Guinea from October 6 to 11. The delegation comprises 30 companies operating in strategic sectors, including infrastructure, public works, construction, energy, electrical industries, pharmaceuticals, food, higher education, tourism, technology, health, and services. The visit aims to strengthen economic relations between Tunisia and Guinea and explore partnership and investment opportunities under the "Simandou 2040" program.
The "Simandou 2040" program is a national development framework that aims to utilize Guinea's mineral resources, particularly the Simandou iron ore project, to support economic diversification and infrastructure development. The program offers opportunities for foreign companies to contribute to projects related to infrastructure, energy, water, sanitation, industry, local transformation, housing, technology, health, engineering, and specialized services.
The Tunisian delegation will meet with government officials, institutions, and business leaders to identify market needs and investment opportunities. The visit will also feature business-to-business meetings between Tunisian and Guinean companies, as well as a workshop on project structuring and financing. The workshop, organized by the Tunisian "Tocad" group, will focus on converting priority projects into structured and financeable initiatives.
The Tunisian-African Business Council hopes to leverage Guinea's economic dynamism to enhance the presence of Tunisian companies in the Guinean market and establish partnerships with local partners. The council aims to promote sustainable partnerships, technology transfer, and expertise sharing between Tunisian and Guinean companies.
The delegation will also participate in the third edition of the Africa Inclusive Growth Forum, which will provide an opportunity to showcase Tunisian expertise and capacities, as well as expand the network of partnerships. The forum will bring together public and private stakeholders to discuss industrialization, local transformation, and value creation in Africa.
The Tunisian-African Business Council emphasizes that the delegation's goal is to transition Tunisia-Guinea economic relations from trade to investment and joint development, by encouraging partnerships between Tunisian and Guinean companies. The council is optimistic about the potential for cooperation and investment between the two countries.
