A 24-year-old man, Ackrowford Masenya, died on Sunday, September 27, 2026, after being hit with a stone in the head outside a hotel in Nairobi's Dagoretti area. According to police, the incident occurred within the N-Market area, and was reported by a woman who operates a hotel in the area. She alerted officers after an unidentified man was found unconscious outside the establishment.
Police said Masenya had been buying mandazi at the hotel while in the company of five other people when a disagreement reportedly broke out among them. During the fight, police said Fred allegedly kicked Mununga, causing him to fall unconscious. Mununga was rushed to Jovial Health Facility in Lung’anyiro, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police officers visited and processed the scene, and the man was arrested and placed in custody pending further investigations.
The deceased's body was transferred to Butula Hospital Mortuary, where it is being preserved awaiting a post-mortem examination. The police investigation into the incident is ongoing, and authorities have not released further details.
