The 20th National Pomegranate Festival kicked off on November 5th in Fquih Ben Salah, Morocco, and will run until November 8th. The event, held under the theme "Twenty Years of Devotion to Pomegranates... A Journey Towards Valuing Heritage and Development," aims to promote local pomegranate production, support cooperatives and producers, and highlight the region's cultural and historical significance.

The festival features an exhibition that allows local cooperatives and producers to showcase their agricultural products and interact directly with visitors. This platform enables the promotion of local production diversity and stimulates economic activity in the region by linking agricultural resource valuation to cooperative initiative support.

Mustafa Raouf, President of the Pomegranate Festival Association for Comprehensive Rural Development, emphasized that this edition offers an opportunity to renew the meeting between the region's residents and visitors, showcasing the natural, cultural, and heritage assets of the area. The association aims to make the festival an annual event to promote local pomegranates and provide a platform for producers and cooperatives to connect with the public.

The festival's opening ceremony featured equestrian performances with the participation of over 23 equestrian groups representing different regions. The event also included folk segments inspired by Moroccan local, regional, and national heritage, highlighting the significance of traditional cavalry in the region's cultural memory.

The program includes meetings on investment and heritage in the Zaidaniya region, aiming to highlight the economic and cultural potential of the area and recall its history and landmarks, particularly the Zaidaniya Kasbah, a key component of the region's historical heritage.

This edition of the festival takes place in the context of the 51st anniversary of the Green March and the celebration of Unity Day. Organizers hope that the festival's various segments will enhance the reputation of Fquih Ben Salah's pomegranates, promote the region's cultural and tourist potential, and support local products and rural development.

The festival is organized by the Pomegranate Festival Association for Comprehensive Rural Development, in partnership with the Khlafia Commune, and supported by the Beni Mellal-Khénifra Regional Council, the Beni Mellal-Khénifra Regional Tourism Development Company, and other local institutions.
