Alhaji Yusuf Dingyadi, Senior Special Assistant to the APC national chairman for Media and Publicity, has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will secure at least 80 per cent of the votes cast in Sokoto State at the 2027 general elections. Dingyadi made this assurance during an empowerment programme for 300 indigenes organised by the Managing Director of the Sokoto State Media Corporation, Alhaji Labaran Lumo Dundaye.

The event took place in Dundaye town, the headquarters of Dundaye District in Wamakko Local Government Area. Dingyadi maintained that the APC has no doubt about winning the elections, citing the party's preparedness and grassroots support. He disclosed that the APC presidential campaign will be flagged off on October 24 in Kaduna, and that the party has put in place committees from ward to zonal levels to ensure victory.

Dingyadi also highlighted the North-West region's significant population strength, with almost 20 million votes, and claimed that the APC is assured of getting not less than 15 million votes. He commended Alhaji Labaran Lumo Dundaye for distributing an undisclosed amount of cash to 300 APC supporters, describing the gesture as a show of true leadership and resilience.

The Managing Director of the Sokoto State Media Corporation, Alhaji Labaran Lumo Dundaye, said the financial assistance aimed to complement Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto's efforts to improve the welfare of the people and alleviate their suffering. He called on the people of the state to support President Tinubu, Governor Aliyu, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, and all APC candidates in 2027.

Dundaye praised Governor Ahmed Aliyu as the best-performing governor in Nigerian political history and President Tinubu for building many projects in northern Nigeria. He urged the people to reciprocate the government's efforts, saying "it is now payback time" and that the people should "give back what the government has done for us".

Other speakers at the event, including the Chairman of Wamakko Local Government Council, Hon. Umar Ahmad Dundaye, commended the Managing Director for the gesture and urged the people to remain united and support the APC. Beneficiaries of the empowerment programme thanked the donor and pledged continued support for the APC.

The event was attended by various APC officials, including the party's Assistant State Financial Secretary, Alhaji Sani Dalla Dalla, and the party Chairman in the area, Alhaji Rua Umar Nabana. The programme was described as commendable, with attendees urging beneficiaries to use the support judiciously.
