The Government Secondary School Otukpo Old Boys Association (OGSSOBA) has announced its support for its alumnus, Senator George Akume, who is currently the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF). According to Okpe Oko, the National Convener of the support group, Akume is a political leader whose direction the alumni body has resolved to follow. Chief Ali Igboyi, the group's National Coordinator, acknowledged the current socio-economic challenges but emphasized that subsidy removal was crucial to dismantling cartels that had long exploited the country. Igboyi highlighted key federal interventions driving economic recovery in the North-Central region, including major road networks and a newly commissioned lithium processing facility in Nasarawa State.
According to Igboyi, these infrastructure, security, and industrial investments are laying a solid foundation for sustainable growth, job creation, and prosperity across the region and Nigeria at large. The investments have the potential to transform the nation's economy and improve the standard of living for its citizens.
