The leadership of the All Progressives Congress in Ijesa South Federal Constituency of Osun State has declared its support for the economic reforms of President Bola Tinubu and rallied electorate for all candidates of the party in the 2027 general elections. This was made known in a statement issued after a meeting and signed by Kunle Odeyemi and Femi Kujembola. The party expressed confidence in the economic reforms and administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Running Mate, Vice President, Kassim Shettima.
The APC has declared support for the reelection bid of the two incumbent lawmakers representing Osun East in the Senate, Francis Fadahunsi and Olusanya Omirin, who represents Ijesa South Federal Constituency. The party also charged electorate to support Timothy Owoeye, the party's candidate for Ilesa East State Constituency, Babatunde Komolafe, the Atakumosa East and West State Constituency APC candidate, and Abayomi Ojo, the party's candidate for the Ilesa West State Constituency.
Commenting on the state of the country's economy, the party admitted that Nigeria may be passing through some difficulties arising from tough economic decisions of the President. However, it assured people that, in due time, the country will overcome all hardships. The statement partly read, "Though, we may be passing through some difficulties arising from tough economic decisions, we want to assure the people that, in due time, we shall overcome all the hardships."
The party expressed confidence in the support and trust of the people of Ijesa South Federal Constituency, noting their continued desires to vote for APC as a patriotic decision and testimony that Ijesaland remains the hub of progressives in the state. It reaffirmed its commitment to continue to serve with the fear of God and respect for the dignity of the electorate.
The APC in the six local government areas of the Osun East Senatorial District's Ijesa axis had rejected calls for the recall of Senator Francis Fadahunsi, describing those behind the move as anti-APC elements. The Director, Contact and Mobilisation Committee of the APC in Ijesa South Federal Constituency, Akinyele Akintola, stated this in a statement obtained in Osogbo while reacting to a protest against Fadahunsi in Ilesa.
Akintola alleged that Fadahunsi's political opponents were behind the protest and warned stakeholders in the Osun East Senatorial District against actions capable of creating tension. The six local government areas are Obokun, Oriade, Ilesa East, Ilesa West, Atakumosa East and Atakumosa West. The party seeks passionately for massive support of the electorates in all the elections, as it also sues for peace, unity and harmony.
The party's decision was made in a far-reaching resolution that reaffirmed the confidence and unalloyed commitment of the leaders and members in the pedigree, character, competency, service delivery and experience of Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi as the candidate of the Party for Senate. The party also reaffirmed its unreserved confidence in Hon. Olusanya Omirin for House of Representatives, and all its candidates listed for the State Constituency Election.
