Alhaji Muhammad Sani Abdullahi Bunza, the Accord Party candidate for the 2027 Kebbi State governorship election, has vowed to tackle banditry and kidnapping in the state using Islamic injunctions. He made this promise at the Candidate Engagement Forum organized by the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kebbi State Council. Bunza invoked passages from the Holy Qur’an, stating that invoking these verses with honesty can put an end to banditry and kidnapping.
Bunza also promised to improve the welfare of civil servants in the state by paying a minimum wage of N500,000 per month. He stated that workers in the state are subjected to trauma and hardship due to unpopular government policies, which are driving them into hopelessness. The Accord candidate emphasized that he wants to change the narrative, ensuring that workers are treated with dignity.
The candidate further assured that his intention is not personal gain but to liberate Kebbi and its people. He expressed his commitment to transforming agriculture in the state, making Kebbi an agricultural hub. Bunza, who is a farmer, promised to provide free fertilizers, chemicals, and other farming inputs to smallholder and large-scale farmers to encourage increased food production.
Bunza also plans to focus on mechanized farming by procuring tractors and other machines to support his agricultural ambitions. Additionally, he intends to revamp the health sector, equipping hospitals with state-of-the-art facilities to prevent medical tourism abroad. He promised that enough medicine will be supplied to every hospital in both urban and rural areas and provided to patients free of charge.
The Accord candidate emphasized that his mission is to make Kebbi an agricultural hub and improve the health sector. He stated that Nigeria has the resources to pay workers a living wage, not just a minimum wage. Bunza criticized the current situation, where workers are treated as slaves to those in positions of authority.
Bunza appealed to the electorate across Kebbi to vote wisely by casting their votes for the Accord Party. He expressed confidence that his plans and promises can transform the state and improve the lives of its citizens. The candidate Engagement Forum provided a platform for Bunza to share his vision and plans with the people of Kebbi.
