The Lagos State Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Hon ThankGod Christopher Ibeh, has expressed confidence in the party's strategies to win National Assembly seats in Lagos in the 2027 elections. Ibeh, who is also the party's candidate for Amuwo-Odofin Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, unveiled his developmental agenda at a town hall meeting organised by Amuwo Residents for Better Representation (ARBR) in Lagos.
Ibeh's agenda, tagged the R.O.L.E Agenda, focuses on Representation, Oversight, Legislation, and Engagement, with a commitment to providing purposeful leadership and effective representation for residents of Amuwo-Odofin. He described the opportunity to represent the constituency as both a sacrifice and a responsibility that should not be taken for granted, promising to prioritize the welfare of constituents and effective representation if elected.
According to Ibeh, leadership should be anchored on trust, accountability, service, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of the people. He recounted his political journey and experience in APGA, having been a member since 2006 and having contested the party's governorship primary in Anambra State against the incumbent governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo.
Ibeh's ambition is not merely to occupy political office but to use the position to attract development and opportunities to Amuwo-Odofin. He promised to introduce a skills-development programme aimed at equipping young people with practical skills to become economically independent, saying, "I will introduce one youth, two skills. I will teach you how to fish and not give you fish."
If elected, Ibeh would pursue partnerships with Federal Government ministries, departments, and agencies, private-sector organisations, and development partners to create employment opportunities for youths in the constituency. He also pledged to work with residents and community organisations to improve living conditions across Amuwo-Odofin, including improving healthcare delivery and access to medical facilities.
Ibeh's agenda also includes supporting education through scholarships and bursary awards, promoting agriculture, and improving roads and other infrastructure. He promised to support small businesses and vulnerable groups, stressing that sustainable development requires collaboration among elected representatives, residents, and relevant institutions.
The Chairman of Amuwo Residents for Better Representation, Chief Chima Nweke, said the town hall meeting was organised to give the APGA candidate an opportunity to present his agenda and interact with residents ahead of the 2027 elections. Nweke said the platform was established to promote dialogue on better representation for Amuwo-Odofin.
