The Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has made new appointments of Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and Special Assistants. This move is an addition to the many aides recently engaged by the governor. The appointments were announced by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia.
According to Prof. Onyia, the appointments include various individuals with diverse backgrounds and expertise. Notably, two Nollywood actresses, Rachael Okonkwo and Eucharia Anunobi, have been appointed. Rachael Okonkwo has been appointed as the Senior Special Assistant on Film and Creative Industry Development, while Eucharia Anunobi takes on the role of Special Assistant on Women Mobilisation, Enugu-North Zone.
The appointments also include Chief S.N.C. Nwagu as Special Adviser on Conflict Resolution and Mediation, and Hon. Dr. Fidelis Odo as Special Adviser on Inter-Governmental Affairs and Co-ordination. Other appointees are Augustine Okoli as Special Adviser on Policy Affairs and Analysis, and Hon. Pedro Nwankwo as Special Adviser on Stakeholders Relations and Community Affairs.
Furthermore, Chimezie Nkwuo has been appointed as Special Adviser on Economic Development, and Chief Vitalis Okonkwo as Special Adviser on Grassroot Coordination. Peter Andy Omeje takes on the role of Special Adviser on Commerce and Business Development. These appointments reflect the governor's efforts to assemble a diverse team of experts to advise him on various matters.
In addition to the Nollywood actresses, other notable appointments include Barrister Okey Ude as Senior Special Assistant on Inter-Party and Mobilisation, and Hon. Chinedu Chukwunwike as Senior Special Assistant on Party Monitoring. Barrister Peter Chukwujekwu Ogbe has been appointed as Senior Special Assistant on Legal and Regulatory Compliance.
The appointments also cover a range of sectors, including town union coordination, market decongestion, and community youth engagement. Cornelius Ugwu has been appointed as Special Assistant on Town Union Co-ordination, while Hon. Romanus Ugwu takes on the role of Special Assistant on Market Decongestion. Timothy Chukwuemeka Nnaji has been appointed as Special Assistant on Community Youth Engagement and Development.
According to Prof. Onyia, all the appointments are with immediate effect. This move by the governor is seen as an effort to strengthen his administration and ensure effective governance in the state. The appointments bring to the fore the governor's commitment to utilizing the skills and expertise of various individuals for the development of Enugu State.
