A massive rally was held in Limawa Ward, Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State, with over 10,000 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) reaffirming their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Malam Umar Namadi, and the party's House of Assembly candidate. The rally, coordinated by Ambassador Salisu Muhammad Seeker, was predominantly attended by women.

The rally also saw the defection of hundreds of members from opposition parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), African Democratic Congress (ADC), and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), to the ruling APC. This development has boosted the APC's membership in the state as political realignments intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Receiving the defectors, the APC State Chairman, Ahmed Garba, represented by the party's Publicity Secretary, Bashir Kundu, commended the people of Limawa Ward for their continued confidence in the leadership of President Tinubu and Governor Namadi. He expressed confidence that the APC would record a decisive victory in Jigawa State in the forthcoming elections.

Kundu assured the new members that they would enjoy equal recognition and opportunities within the party, irrespective of their previous political affiliations. He also cited political appointments given to indigenes of the area and the provision of infrastructure aimed at promoting economic development and creating opportunities for young people.

The APC State Chairman, Hon Ahmed Garba Maikudi, represented by Bashir Kundu, urged the people to sustain their support for the APC, adding that continued cooperation with the party would help attract more development projects and government interventions to the area. He expressed optimism that the massive turnout and defection of opposition members would strengthen the party's mobilisation efforts.

The party's House of Assembly candidate, Ibrahim Yakubu Yargaba, a former chairman of Dutse Local Government Area, urged residents to remain loyal to the APC and vote for its candidates in the forthcoming elections. Yargaba said the large crowd demonstrated the people's acceptance of the programmes and policies of President Tinubu and Governor Namadi.

Yargaba cautioned party supporters against complacency, urging them to remain vigilant and resist attempts by opposition parties to weaken the APC's support base in the ward. The rally demonstrated the growing grassroots support for the APC in Jigawa State, with the party's leadership expressing confidence in its chances of winning the 2027 elections.
